Abstract

1,246,090. Load handling pallets. BAMBERGERS Ltd. 11 Sept., 1968 [13 Nov., 1967; 18 April, 1968], Nos. 51504/67 and 18432/68. Heading B8H. In a pallet wherein the loading of the deck may be considered to be uniformly distributed, the bearers 3, 4, which have apertures 5, 6 to receive the forks of a fork lift device, are positioned such that they coincide with the position of maximum stress of the deck, is that the distance L 2 between the centre lines of the bearers is equal to twice the distance L 1 from the centre line of a bearer to the adjacent parallel edge of the pallet. In a further embodiment, Fig. 7 (not shown), the pallet comprises identical halves (7), (8) joined along the centre line of the pallet and in a still further embodiment, Fig. 8 (not shown), the pallet comprises four identical sections (10), (11), (12), (13). The pallet may be made from timber, compressed fibrous material such as waste wood, sugar cane, flax shavings, bagasse or compressed particulate material, such as sand, cement or slag.
