Abstract

[Also in Division E1] A drag line boom incorporates a bucket rope pulley 2 mounted on the face end of the boom through a bush 5 carried by a pin 9 extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the boom, whereby the pulley may tilt about an axis perpendicular to its axis of rotation. Spaced end plates 10 of the boom rigidly support therebetween, a crosspiece 8 have stop surfaces 16 thereon which are engageable by the bush 5 to limit the tilting of the pulley. The pin 9 extends through and is supported by the crosspiece 8 above the longitudinal axis thereof and perpendicular thereto, the ends of the pin rotatably supporting the bush 5 through bearings 13. A thrust bearing 14 on the pin transfers pulley loads to the crosspiece and boom from the bush 5 which rotatably supports the pulley 2 through bearings 4.
