Abstract

1,243,968. Clamps. PEL Ltd. 3 Oct., 1968 [4 Oct., 1967], No. 45207/67. Heading E2B. A clamp comprises a tubular body 10 shaped at one end portion to an elongated crosssectional configuration said end portion being formed with a pair of notches 11 adapted to seat a bar extending in the direction of the minor axis of the cross-section of the said end portion, a pair of internally screw threaded sleeves 12 secured in spaced parallel relation within the said end portion of the body, a cover 13 and a pair of clamping screws 18 engage with the said sleeves and arranged for urging the cover towards the body for clamping, between the body and the cover, the bar when seated, in use, in said notches. In the construction shown the cover is also notched, the notches of the cover being aligned with the notches in the end portion of the body for receiving a said bar of elliptical crosssection. The cover carries a pair of sleeves 17 through which the clamping screws pass.
