Abstract

An anchoring device for embedding in concrete comprises a sleeve 1 extending from an integral base, a partially threaded bore extending through the base and sleeve and the base having a rectilinear channel 4 that extends substantially at right angles to the bore and is of a size sufficient to accommodate an anchoring bar 6 which is to be embedded in the concrete, the channel being defined between a pair of flanges 2, 3 extending from the base in the same direction, transversely of the bore axis. In one embodiment the flange 2 is tapered at its free end and in another embodiment it is forked to provide two lugs which can easily be bent over to retain the anchoring bar 6. In the embodiments described two parallel channels 4 are provided, with the flanges 2, 3 forming one channel extending diametrically opposite to the flanges forming the other.
