Valve-gear.-The mechanism described in the parent Specification is modified by mounting the tappet members g to reciprocate in a direction other than vertically. As shown in Fig. 3, the members g are each disposed horizontally between an actuating cam and a rocking-lever h', the axis of which is inclined to the cam-shaft and also to (1) a plane containing the rocking- lever and the axis of the valve which the lever actuates, or (2) a plane parallel to the first-mentioned plane.
