Abstract

1,241,003. Increasing resolution in electrophotography. EASTMAN KODAK CO. July 25, 1968 [July 31, 1967], No. 35569/68. Heading G2H. The resolving power of a photo-conductive layer having no persistence of photo-conductivity is increased by uniformly exposing the layer prior to charging in an electro-photographic process to an amount of light sufficient to increase the resolution of the developed image and of at least 10<SP>4</SP> footcandle seconds. Specified photo-conductors are selenium, organo metallic compounds and organic amino photo-conductors which may be sensitized with pyrylium, thiapyrylium and selesapyrylium balls, fluorene compound, asthrones, quinones, thiazoles, mineral acids, carboxylic acids and dyes.
