Abstract
963,645. Electrophotography. COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA. Aug. 2, 1961 [Aug. 8, 1960], No. 28104/61. Drawings to Specification. Heading G2H. [Also in Division H1] The contrast of a xerographic image is varied by first exposing the photoconductor surface uniformly to electromagnetic waves of a wavelength that can be absorbed by the photoconductor so that its charge-holding ability and charge leakage rate are decreased and then proceeding with the usual uniform corona charging, differential exposure and developing steps. The uniform conditioning may be with visible light or ultra violet or X-rays in the case of a zinc oxide or selenium photoconductor.
