Abstract

1,240,215. Dyeing cellulose diacetate with basic dyes. HODOGAYA KAGAKU KOGYO, K.K. 17 Oct., 1969 [17 Oct., 1968], No. 51039/69. Heading D1B. Cellulose diacetate fibres are dyed with a solution of a basic dye in water in presence of a salt of a sulphuric ester of formula: in which R 1 is a straight chain alkyl radical and R 2 is hydrogen or a straight chain alkyl radical the groups R 1 and R 2 together containing a total of 9 carbon atoms, M is Na. K. or NH 4 . Preferably the ester is sodium ndecyl sulphate or sodium 1-methylnonyl sulphate 1 to 10 moles of ester being used per mole of basic dye. The pH of the dyebath is preferably 3 to 5 and non-ionic surfactants are used.
