Abstract

1,237,806. Spray carburetters. BENDIX CORP. Aug. 19, 1969 [Sept. 5, 1968], No.41298/69. Heading F1B . A choke valve plate 16 mounted on a manually operated shaft 18 in a carburetter air intake passage 12 is connected to the shaft by a leafspring 20 so that when the choke is partially opened during engine starting by the suction developed in the passage and acting on the valve plate, the leaf-spring distorts to allow the valve plate to move relatively to the shaft from the closed position shown in Fig. 3 to the partially open position shown in Fig. 6, with the centre 17 of the valve plate moving along the axis of the passage.
