Abstract
1,236,552. Knitting-machines. NORTH AMERICAN ROCKWELL CORP. 16 Jan., 1969 [12 March, 1968], No. 2550/69. Heading D1C. In a high pile circular machine having a plurality of carding heads each capable of separately processing and delivering at least two slivers by different sections the top feed roll sections 24-6 of all the carding heads are driven by a first ring gear 46 and the bottom sections 27-9 of all the heads by a second ring gear 53. A third ring gear 39 drives the needle cylinder 21 together with the card and doffer cylinders 30, 31. Each ring gear is controlled independently by its individual variable speed motor.
