Abstract

123,577. Vernon, P. V. Feb. 26, 1918. Disk apparatus.-Relates to grinding-machines of the traversed-mandrel lathe type for cutting screw gauges &c. and consists in providing a movable forward bearing for the mandrel and a movable tail-stock, both of which are traversed by means driven off the main drive. In the construction shown, the forward bearing F' and the tail-stock are mounted on a slide F, which is moved along the machine-bed at the same speed as the mandrel by a lead screw H driven from the main driving-gear.
