In a terminal block of the kind adapted to be clipped on to a supporting rail, the insulating housing 1 is provided with a foot 4 with lugs 10 (11, Fig. 4, not shown) which engage recesses 18 (19) in a resilient U-shaped retaining member 5 to lock in two C-shaped steel wire springs 6 with free portions 7 which project through grooves (16, Fig. 7, not shown) in the retaining member 5. The foot 4 is provided with grooves (12, Fig. 6, not shown, 13, 14, Fig. 4, not shown) to locate the springs 6.
