1292942 Current collection in dynamoelectric machines VEREINIGUNG VOLKSEIGENER BETRIEBE ELEKTRISCHE KONSUMGUTER 2 March 1971 5787/71 Heading H2A Electrical connection is made to a non- metallic (carbon) slip ring 1 via a conductive ring 8 held against the radially inner surface of the slip ring by a pressure element. The conductive ring 8 is split and the pressure element may be constituted by any of the following disposed between the ends 9 of the ring to force them apart (only Fig. 2, being shown): (i) a bolt 10 and associated spring ring (Figs. 2, 3); (ii) a helical or U-shaped spring (Figs. 4-6); (iii) a split ring (Fig. 7); (iv) a wedge (Figs. 8, 11, 12); (v) a cam (Fig. 9). Alternatively (Fig. 10, not shown) a resilient ring (15) may be disposed inside the conductive ring 8. Connection is made from the ring 8 via a conductive strip 7 disposed in a bore of the insulating slip ring carrier 4.
