Abstract
1307628 Slip rings for dynamo-electric machines VEREINIGUNG VOLKSEIGENER BETRIEBE ELEKTRISCHE KONSUMGUTER 21 Aug 1970 40377/70 Heading H2A In a slip ring assembly comprising carbon slip rings 1-3, Fig. 1, mounted on a cylindrical hub 6 and engaged by holding caps 4, 5, the caps 4, 5 and hub 6 are made of an electrically insulating but thermally conductive beryllium oxidic cement or plastics material containing beryllium oxide. The hub 6 may be formed integrally with the axially outermost caps 4, 5 (Fig. 3, not shown) or may at least partly comprise material centrifugally deposited in situ, as 24, Fig. 8. Caps of beryllium oxidic material may be provided only against the outermost slip ring surfaces, as 19, 20 in Fig. 8, the slip rings being held apart by concentric perforated rings 16, 17 between which is provided further beryllium oxidic material. The whole assembly may be saturated with resin. Connections 8-10, Fig. 1, or 22, 23, Fig. 8, are made to the slip rings through bores in the hub.
