Abstract

1,234,355. Electric couplings. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 10 Oct., 1969, No. 49814/69. Heading H2E. A grounding foil 12 for retaining removable electrical elements, e.g. filter 28 and providing ground connection between said element and a conductor 14, comprises a disc member having peripheral spring tabs 22 outwardly projecting for contact between the foil and conductor, and having circular openings 24 formed from second spring tabs 26 to retain elements 28. The tabs 22 deflect upon insertion of foil into shell 14 of the conductor, thereby providing constant pressure between foil and conductor. Each tab 26 acts independently in applying pressure to outer surface of element 28 and return to normal position upon removal of element 28. The foil is a thin flat member of beryllium copper plated with silver and mounted perpendicular to the axis of the conductor 14. Elements 28 may have different cross-sectional shape and be supported by insulating plugs within conductor 14.
