Abstract
123,344. Dawson, B. Nov. 14, 1917. Nitric acid. - In the manufacture of nitric acid, the gases from the condensers are treated in an empty tower with a spray of air and water produced by admitting compressed air by a nozzle N opening below the level of the water in the bottom of the tower. The gases enter at T' and leave at T<2>, the water being supplied at P and withdrawn at C.
