Abstract

1,233,307. Golf club head. BRUNSWICK CORP. 22 July, 1969 [2 Aug., 1968], No. 36715/69. Heading A6D. In order to simulate the sound produced when a conventional wooden golf club head hits a golf ball, a plastics golf club head 10 is formed with a plurality of cavities extending upwardly from the bottom surface 14. The cavities also reduce the weight of the plastics club head to approximately that of a conventional wooden club head, the weight being adjustable by the use of weighted pins inserted into further cavities in the head. The cavities may be circular or elliptical in cross-section, may have different depths and diameters and may be spaced different distances apart. A sole plate may be provided to cover the cavities. The hosel 16 has a bore 18 to receive a shaft.
