Abstract

1432688 Golf and like clubs Y MIYAMOTO 8 Aug 1973 37596/73 Heading A6D A club for hitting a ball, e.g. in a golf-like game, includes a shaft 1 and a head secured to one end of the shaft 1, the head having from three to six hitting faces disposed at different angles to the shaft axis 10, the difference in angle between any two faces being more than 2‹, preferably more than 7‹. The angle # (Fig. 1) between any hitting face and the shaft axis 10 must lie within the range - 15‹ (i.e. downwardly facing) to 65‹ (upwardly facing). The angles and faces are chosen according to the type of stroke required e.g. putting, long shot, short shot &c. Fig. 1 shows a head with three faces 4, 5, 6, Fig. 5 shows a head with five faces 4 to 8 and Fig. 6 shows a head with four faces 4 to 7, the face 7 being concavely curved. The sole 11 of the head may be cut away at one side to provide a second sole surface 12.
