Abstract

1,232,647. Earthworking rippers. CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO. 5 Aug., 1968 [1 Sept., 1967], No. 37231/68. Heading E1G. A horizontal tool beam 13 carrying a ripper shank 29 is mounted on a tractor 10 by a pair of transversely spaced parallelogram-type linkages and lifting jacks 31, each linkage comprising vertical brackets 11, 14, a lower link 15 of fixed length and an upper link 24 whose length may be adjusted to allow departure from a true parallelogram and hence tilting of the shank 29. As shown each adjustable length link 24 comprises a hydraulic actuator.
