Abstract

1,232,546. Moulding machines. ACMECLEVELAND CORP. 10 April, 1969 [23 July, 1968], No. 18512/69. Heading B3F. A table for receiving cores or moulds from a core- or mould-making machine comprises first and second supports 13 and 14 each having apertures therein, there being a plurality of fingers 12 for receiving a core or mould each disposed in an aligned pair of said apertures, and means operated by a hand wheel 35 for relatively moving said supports in opposite directions along substantially parallel planes. There may be a third support 15 rigidly connected to the support 13 by bolts 18 passing through spacers 19. Between the supports 13 and 15, the fingers 12 are disposed within sleeves 39 surrounded by rubber sleeves 38. A ball, pin or dowel 45 may be disposed in a detent hole in the sleeve 39 to engage the side of the finger 12. With the hand wheels 35 loosened, the only force holding the fingers 12 is the frictional force established by the ball 45. If the table 11 is now moved upwardly into contact with a core 30, the fingers will adjust themselves to the shape of the core. The hand wheels 35 may now be tightened to move the second support 14 in the direction of arrow 33, Fig. 4, and thus provide friction at the interfaces 41, 42 and 43 to hold the fingers 12 firmly in place.
