Abstract
1,231,854. Hydrodesulphurization. GAS COUNCIL. 28 March, 1969 [4 April, 1968], No. 16351/68. Heading C5E. In a process for removing organic sulphur compounds from hydrocarbon liquids the liquids are treated with hydrogen at elevated temperatures and at superatmospheric pressures in the presence of a catalyst composition comprising nickel or cobalt or nickel oxide or cobalt oxide or mixtures thereof together with uranoso-uranic oxide and/or uranium trioxide. The catalyst may be supported on alumina. The feedstock may contain asphaltenes and other highly aromatic structures and also metallo-organic compounds.
