Abstract

[Also in Division F2] A tool for driving pins or staples 5 into a workpiece 9 for securing a plate 8 thereto comprises a guide channel 6 in which is accommodated a movable impact member 7, the guide channel 6 being provided in a nozzle 4 having a bearing surface 11 which, when abutted against the plate 8, locates the guide channel 6 at a predetermined angle relative to the plate 8, whereby pins or staples fed to the channel 6 can be driven at the predetermined angle from the tool. The tool may have a magazine 3 for the pins or staples, a handle 2 and a support 12 having a surface coplanar with the bearing surface 11. The nozzle 4 may be provided with guide members 4<SP>1</SP>, 4<SP>11</SP> defining a slot 10 or with a member (13) (Fig. 6, not shown), such members 4<SP>1</SP>, 4<SP>11</SP> or member (13) providing an abutment for the tool in use against the workpiece 9.
