Abstract

1312347 Fastener driving machines SWING- LINE Inc 4 June 1970 [26 Aug 1969] 26911/70 Heading B4C A machine for driving staples, nails or the like 23, comprises a housing 12, a magazine 16 provided with means 18-21 for successively delivering staples &c. to a drive channel 25, a piston 29 movable against a spring 30 within a piston raceway 28 of the housing 12 and a driving blade 27 attached to the piston 29. On striking an upper piston portion 32 with a mallet (not shown), a staple 23, &c. is driven through the channel 25 into an adjacently positioned workpiece, the piston stroke being limited by a bumper 26, e.g. of rubber covered with polycarbonate resin 48. The housing 12 may be in moulded high-impact polystyrene or polycarbonate resin sections 13, (14), Fig. 1 (not shown), joined by screws 15, and the piston 39 may be of similar material.
