Abstract
1,231,449. Master cylinders; brake indicators. SOC. ANON. D.B.A. 12 Dec., 1968 [15 Dec., 1967], No.59210/68. Headings F2E and F2F. In an hydraulic reservoir 16 for a split-type master cylinder 10, an inner reservoir chamber 20 is formed by a side wall portion 24 of a reservoir casing 18 and is adapted to be connected at its bottom end thereof to one of the pressure chambers of the master cylinder and an outer reservoir chamber 22 substantially arranged around the inner reservoir chamber 20 is provided with an outlet orifice 34 adapted to be connected by an adjustable fitting assembly 36 to the other pressure chamber of the master cylinder, the reservoir casing being characterized in that it is made of transluscent material, the side wall portion 24 being common with the cylindrical side wall 18 of the outer reservoir chamber. A secondary outlet orifice 42 is provided on the outer reservoir chamber to connect the latter to the pressure chamber of a further auxiliary receiver means such as a master cylinder (not shown) controlling the clutch of the vehicle. The top of the reservoir 16 is closed in a manner known per se by a threaded plug 44 with the enter position of an elastomeric diaphragm 46 which prevents the entrance of contaminents into the reservoir chambers 20 and 22, the latter having substantially equal internal volumes.
