Abstract

1363061 Master cylinders SOC ANON DBA 21 June 1973 [12 July 1972] 29541/73 Heading F2F A master cylinder comprises at least one piston slidably mounted in a blind bore 12 in a body 10 and defining therein a pressure chamber connected to a reservoir by a replenishing passage provided with a valve 70 having a tiltable closure member operated by a push-rod 50 connected to the piston by way of stroke amplifying means which, as shown, is a lever 92, As shown, the master cylinder is intended for a dual brake circuit and has an actuating piston 14 and a floating piston 16 defining pressure chambers 18, 20. A double reservoir 28 of elastomeric material is formed of an enclosure 32 and cup 38 welded thereto by fins 40 and provided with a tube 42 co-operating with a seal 44 and communicating with a cavity 62 receiving a tilting valve 70 controlling flow of fluid to chamber 18 via a duct 46. The push-rod 50 carries a conical rubber valve member 90 which can close the end of a duct 80 through which fluid passes from the outer reservoir via a duct 76 to replenish chamber 20.
