An insulating connector housing is formed with a shutter 18 which prevents access to two contact sockets 15 unless the corresponding pins 30 are inserted in openings 13 in the housing cover simultaneously. Projections 26 on arms 25 of shutter 18 extend into the openings 13 and projections 23 extend into recesses 24 and are formed on each side of an internallythreaded brass insert (31, Fig. 1, not shown), spring 32 urging the shutter into the position shown in Fig. 2. When the pins 30 are inserted into openings 13 their sloping surfaces 30A contact sloping surfaces 28 formed on projections 26 and force the shutter down, as seen in Fig. 7, to take up any play, then back towards the sockets 15, and finally down to the position shown in Fig. 7, in which condition the pins may be finally inserted into the sockets 15 and the device, e.g. a fuse-holder, carrying the pins may be screwed down by a screw extending into insert (31). If only one pin is inserted in an opening shutter 18 will pivot a limited amount, until an edge of stem 20 engages abutment 36 (Fig. 9, not shown).
