Abstract
1,228,530. Aerials. PLACIDO GOMEZ. 7 May, 1969 [9 May, 1968; 25 April, 1969], No. 23227/69. Heading H4A. An aerial comprises two parasitic tubular members 1, 2, Fig. 1, which lie in respective spaced-apart horizontal planes, and which have a vertical plane of symmetry. The central portions of said members are curved, and are continued in shorter end portions. A central conductive spacer 11 provides means for mounting on a mast, and two other conductive spacers which are disposed on each side of the spacer 11 support active members lying in a horizontal plane intermediate the planes in which the members 1, 2 are lying. These active members comprise portions 5a, 5b which converge towards a point located behind the members 1, 2 and on the vertical plane of symmetry, and portions 6a, 6b which are extensions of the portions 5a, 5b and which extend away from the said point in opposite directions at an acute angle to the said vertical plane. A feeder is connected to the respective junction points of the portions 5a, 6a and 5b, 6b, and it is stated that the aerial is omni-directional and has wideband properties. In another embodiment, additional active member portions (7a), (7b), Fig. 3 (not shown), extend from the point of convergence and are symmetrical with the portions (6a), (6b) with respect to the said vertical plane.
