982,155. Aerials. MARCONI CO. Ltd. June 14, 1963 [Aug. 21, 1962], No. 31996/62. Addition to 939,790. Heading H4A. Relates to an aerial of the type described in the parent Specification, and comprises an active dipole whose halves A1, A2 are at right angles to each other and at forty-five degrees to the vertical, there being disposed adjacent to each an array of passive dipoles P arranged parallel to the nearest active dipole halves and spaced an odd number of quarter wavelengths apart, the passive dipoles being connected at one end to a ground sheet centrally disposed so that its two halves G1 G2 make an obtuse angle with each other. The aerial provides a radiation pattern having broad maxima at 180 degrees to each other over a wide frequency band with vertical polarization.
