U-tube, superheaters.-A U-tube or like superheater element b is connected to parallel headers a by means of double-wedge pieces e, f, which engage with inclined surfaces on blocks c fitted on the end of the element. By screwing up a nut on a bolt g passing through the wedge pieces, the blocks are forced apart so as to tighten the joints d at the openings in the headers.
