[Also in Division H2] A link 4 carrying a cartridge fuse 24 and which is manually insertable to bridge two stationary contacts 18, 20 is made quick-acting by allowing the link 4 to be pivoted about a resilient nylon sleeve (54, Fig. 3, not shown) carried at one end of the link and insertable into a waisted slot 46 in the end of the stationary contact 18. Each of the fixed contacts 18, 20 is joined to a terminal 14 for a cable entering a porcelain housing 6 through an aperture 12. The housing 6 carries a pair of fixing lugs 8 for pole mounting and is open at the bottom to receive the link 4. The link 4 has a porcelain body 22 which is open at the top and carries a pair of rigid brackets 32. The fuse 24 is located by two transverse bolts 26, 28 which are screwed into the brackets 32 and pass through holes in contacts 30 at each end of the fuse. The contacts 30 are forked to locate on each side of the fixed blade 18 or 20 and the bolt 26 has a reduced diameter portion (52) which carries the nylon sleeve (54). The sleeve is a loose fit on the bolt 26 but a tight fit in the inner portion (50) of the slot 46, allowing the link 4 to be pivoted about the sleeve into the operative position shown. Each bolt 26, 28 also passes through a slotted wedge (34, Fig. 2, not shown) positioned between a bracket 32 and an associated fuse contact 30 and which is then raised by means of a screw 36 to clamp the contact 30 against the corresponding fixed contact 18, 20. The contact 20 and the bolt 28 may also be provided with a waisted slot and a nylon sleeve respectively.
