Abstract

1,226,700. Container closures. LOK-A-WAY Inc. 24 Dec., 1969, No. 62957/69. Heading B8T. A container 10 has an annular walled outlet 12 and an annular walled closure cap 20, one wall having a thread 14 and the other a cooperating lug 28, a groove 16 being disposed below the thread and connected thereto by a passageway 18 so that application of axial pressure to the cap as it is screwed on to the container outlet 12 causes the lug to move through the passageway into the locking groove 16. Both cap and container may be moulded from plastics material, the cap being provided with a sealing disc 26. The lug may be of diamond shape, Fig. 3 (not shown), so as to lock into corresponding depressions (30) in the groove (16A) which may be perpendicular to the axis of the mouth as in Fig. 1, or parallel to the thread 14 as in Fig. 2 (not shown).
