Abstract
1,226,552. Air cushion vehicles. HOVERCRAFT DEVELOPMENT Ltd. 2 April, 1968 [7 April, 1967], No. 16128/67. Addition to 1,072,732. Heading B7K. An air cushion vehicle 4 has a composite flexible skirt comprising two partial loop portions 50a, 50b secured to the vehicle at 59, 60 and to a plurality of U-section fingers or segments 51 each closed on the open side by a panel 54 to prevent scooping of water, the panel forming with wall portion 52 a gap 57 to act as a drain hole, entry of water therethrough being prevented by a lip 58. Each finger 51 is formed also with a further panel 56 which, when contiguous fingers are attached to portions 50a, 50b collectively form with portions 50a, 50b an inflatable bag skirt 50.
