[Also in Division F2] The casing 1 of a hydrodynamic brake having a rotor 12 secured to the propeller shaft 14 of a motor vehicle is carried by an auxiliary frame 2, 3 which bears on chassis members 5, 6 from above and below respectively through the pistons 9, 10 of hydraulic buffer cylinders 7, 8 interconnected by a hose or pipe 11. Interchange of fluid between the cylinders 7, 8 through the pipe 11 accommodates movement of the propeller shaft 14 relative to the chassis and twisting of the chassis.
