[Also in Division F2] An improvement in the hydrodynamic brake disclosed in the parent Specification consists in providing interconnected hydraulic buffers 11, 12 on diametrically opposite sides of the brake housing 7. A pair of buffer blocks 4, 5 are mounted on metal brackets 2, 3. Spherically shaped piston heads 13, 14 engage buffer blocks 16; the outer surfaces of blocks 16 lie in a vertical plane through the propeller shaft axis and vertical to the road surface. Protective sleeves 15 exclude grit from the engaging surfaces of the buffers.
