Abstract
1,056,465. Hydraulic reciprocating motors. SIMIT S.p.A. April 21, 1965 [April 24, 1964), No. 16861/65. Heading F1A. In a swash plate motor, e.g. for driving a vehicle wheel, excavator or vane tower, having pistons 10 spring-loaded against a swash plate 11, the cylinders 9 communicate through piston bores 10a, check valves 24 and passages 21, 22 with the motor casing interior, which is connected to a source 30 of liquid under atmospheric pressure, so that when the load on the motor causes it to rotate at a speed greater than that induced by the supply, loss of contact between the pistons and the swash plate due to void formation in the cylinders is prevented by valves 24 admitting liquid from the casing. Braking action may be obtained by throttling the motor exhaust.
