Abstract
1,224,386. Heating and cooling windows. SULZER BROS. Ltd. 4 July, 1968 [4 July, 1967], No. 32044/68. Heading F4S. The space between wall members formed at least to some extent as a window contains a light transmitting medium, e.g. air, which is forced by a fan over at least one heat exchanger. The space may be substantially completely enclosed or it may have entry and/or exit apertures for fresh air and/or room air, the apertures being closable by flaps. Alternatively, the space may communicate with ambient atmosphere through a pressure-equalizing aperture containing a filter and/or siccative. The fan and a vertically mounted heat exchanger may be arranged in a portion of the space which is divided therefrom by a vertical partition to one side of the space and the air is distributed by horizontally mounted, apertured deflectors. In a further embodiment, the heat exchanger is mounted horizontally adjacent the top or bottom of the space and the flow of air passes consecutively through two sections formed by a central, vertically arranged lighttransmitting partition parallel to the front and back walls of the apparatus.
