1,224,302. Reversing-gearing. VYZKUMNY USTAV TVARECICH STROJU A TECHNOLOGIE TVARENI. 21 Feb., 1969 [24 Feb., 1968], No. 9388/69. Heading F2D. A double-arrangement of a bevel forwardneutral-reverse gear drive for effecting longitudinal and transverse movement of the table of a revolving punch press comprises a pair of continuously and oppositely rotating bevel wheels 6, 7 which are driven from an electric motor 3 via a multi-speed gear-box 2 and output bevel 5 and are journalled on a first output shaft 8 and drive through adjacently connected spur gears 10, 12 to further respective spur gears 13, 14 journalled on a second output shaft 9, the spur gears 10, 12, 13, 14 being selectively connected by manually or program-controlled electromagnetically operated friction clutches 16, 17, 18, 19 respectively to the output shafts 8, 9 which are connected via gearings 20, 22, 26 and 21, 23, 28, 29 to effect reversible drive from either or both final output shafts 24, 25 to a longitudinal rack 32 and a transverse rack (not shown) respectively to effect either longitudinal and/or transverse movement of the press table. Electromagnetically controlled brakes 30, 31, which are simultaneously released when the clutches are engaged, serve to station the final output shafts 24, 25 when the table is stationary.
