Abstract

1,222,010. Crank-case ventilation. FILTERWERK MANN & HUMMEL G.m.b.H. July 12, 1968 [July 13, 1967], No.33276/68. Heading F1B. [Also in Division F2] A crank-case breather valve 6 in a connection 5 from the crank-case to the intake manifold 2 comprises a disc valve 14 which is moved by suction from a seat 20 around the inlet 12 towards a seat 13b around the exit, an opening 21 permitting a minimum flow of gases when the valve is seated at 13b. The valve 14 has flow ports 19 therein and moves in a two-part casing 18, the join 11 between which parts is below the limit of travel of the valve. A second breather link 7 extends from the crank-case to the air filter 4.
