Abstract

1,221,957. Winding and unwinding textile webs. P. DEFONTENAY. 19 March, 1968 [30 March, 1967], No. 13165/68. Headings DID and D1L. [Also in Division F2] To obtain a constant speed and tension during dyeing of a textile web, spindles A1 and A2 (between which the web travels) are driven by variable V belt drives TV1 and TV2, the latter direct from a constant speed motor Ml and the former via a differential D. The relative movement of the differential cage is fed to a control box BC which embodies an oil pump 3 sensing direction of rotation and so operating respective switches 7 that detect excessive out-of-balance and apply this signal to minimising the out-of-balance by varying the ratios of TV1 (by M4) or TV2 (by M3) respectively. In a development, a further guide roller arranged intermediate the path of the textile from the winding spindles is similarly controlled.
