Abstract

1,037,727. Feeding webs. VEB. DRUCKMASCHINENWERKE LEIPZIG. Jan. 26, 1965, No. 3348/65. Heading B6B. A driving and tension-control apparatus for a web 9 fed from a printing-machine to a reel 8 comprises a motor 1 which drives the printing- machine, an inverse voltage generator 2 of which the field 3 is fed separately, and a differential gearing 4 of which one secondary drive drives the reel 8 and a second secondary drive drives a brake generator 5, the armature of which is connected to the armature of the generator 2. The field 6 of the generator 5 is controlled through an amplifier 14 by potentiometers 11, 13, the potentiometer 11 being controlled by a roller 10 detecting the diameter of the reel 8, and the potentiometer 13 being controlled by the vertical movement of a roller 12 in response to the difference between the delivery and take-up speeds of the web. In another form, the generator 2 is omitted, and a voltage inversely proportional to the speed of rotation of the motor 1 is tapped off a voltage source under control of a device for adjusting the rotation speed of the motor.
