Abstract

1,221,925. Two-part couplings. MIDLAND ELECTRIC MFG. CO. Ltd. 14 March, 1968 [27 Jan., 1967], No. 4144/67. Heading H2E. In a two-part coupling the socket 10 comprises a resilient catch member 20, which is engageable by snap action with the plug 15 and releasable manually, and contact elements 14 on the plug 15 engage spring-loaded contact elements 16 in the socket 10, so that on release of the catch member 20, springs 17 eject the plug 15 from the socket 10. The plug 15 may fit flush into the socket 10 by pivotal action about an undercut shelf (19, Fig. 1, not shown) in the recess 12, and the catch member 20 and coacting part 22 of the plug may act as earthing contacts.
