Abstract

1,221,001. Valves. TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP. 6 Nov., 1968 [11 Dec., 1967], No. 52619/68. Heading F2V. A check valve for a high pressure hydrogen compressor comprises a closure disc 16 of a non- ferrous metal alloy. The disc is preferably made from an alloy containing 75 or more per cent aluminium, 0 to 25% of other non-ferrous metals and a maximum of 15% ferrous metal by weight and is held against valve seats 19 by a coil spring 12 in a cap portion 13 with outlet ports 20. The disc may also form part of an inlet valve in which it is urged upwardly against valve seats at the enlarged lower ends of inlet ducts by a coil spring in a tapered annular groove.
