Abstract

1,218,228. Valves. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. 5 Dec., 1968 [14 Dec., 1967], No. 57754/68. Heading F2V. A non-return valve comprises a casing 6 having a seat holder 18 in a bore 14, with a seat 24 made from metal, e.g. gold, and a ball 30 made from a material harder than the seat, e.g. stainless steel, the seat having ribs 28 to guide the ball which is loaded on to the seat by a spring 44, and a ring 20 having a spring abutment 46 secured thereto by vanes 48, located in the bore 14 to retain the seat in position, held by plug 36 welded to the casing at 38, and clamped by a plate 40 and screws 42. In Fig. 2, not shown, the spring abutment is formed in a plug (36<SP>1</SP>) disposed on an axis with the seat, located obliquely to the line of flow through the valve.
