Mud-guards earned by wheels.-Flexible sidesplash guards are detachably secured at the sides of wheels by devices which are contained within the circumference of the rim and within the plane of the outside edge of the rim or tyre. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2, a ring b clamped to the spokes c carries radial bolts e to receive the ring segments a which support the guard a', shown formed of flexible bristles. The ring b may be fitted with additional guide-pins e' along which the guard may be adjusted to compensate for wear, &c. Fig. 5 shows a modification in which a rubber guard a<2> is detachably secured to, a ring b<1> clamped, by bolts f<6> to the spokes c. In a further modification (not shown), the ring b or b' may be attached to the spokes by a chain fitted with a pivoted tightening-screw.
