Abstract

[Also in Division H1] A device 28, Fig. 2, for generating random electrical impulses in the drive of a thread winder comprises a pendulum (8) Fig. 1 (not shown, see Division H1) that is caused to swing in a random manner as by a rotating impact lever (11) coupled to the drive shaft 23. When the pendulum moves into predetermined positions it closes an electrical circuit to produce said random impulses. These impulses may control a clutch drive 27 in the traversing mechanism 25, 26 of the thread winder, or they may act on a portion of the drive, located within the drive 20, which is connected to a continuously traversing shaft. The device serves to avoid ribbon winding.
