Abstract

1,219,546. Hydraulic reciprocating motors. FRIED KRUPP G.m.b.H. March 26, 1969 [March 27, 1968], No. 15887/69. Heading F1A. An hydraulic reciprocating motor comprises a piston 5 reciprocable in a cylinder 1 by alternately pressurizing and de-pressurizing the large cylinder space 2, while maintaining the smaller annular cylinder space 3 pressurized, the alternate pressurization and de-pressurization being effected by a distributing valve 10 actuated by fluid pressure influenced by the covering and uncovering of a throttled pipe 14 by the piston 5. As shown, the piston 5 is moving to the right by fluid from inlet 8 acting via the valve 10 and a conduit 6 on its left face F 1 . When the annular groove 16 is covered by the piston 5 pressure drops in pipe 14 through an adjustable throttle 13 and discharge pipe 9. This pressure drop also occurs in a chamber containing a face F 3 of the valve 10, whereby supply pressure acting on the opposed face F 4 causes the valve to changeover. Conduit 6 is therefore connected to exhaust and the piston reverses. When groove 15 is covered pressure builds up in the pipe 14 causing the valve 10 to return to its original position. In a second embodiment a plurality of longitudinally spaced grooves 15 are provided selectively connectible to the pipe 14 whereby the piston stroke is adjustable. In this embodiment changes inpressure in the pipe 14 control a pilot valve which controls the distributing valve 10. The throttles 11-13 may be adjustable to vary the working frequency.
