Abstract

1,219,054. Stuffer-box crimper; feeding fibrous material. ELITEX ZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI GENERALNI REDITELSTVI. 3 Feb., 1969 [9 Feb., 1968], No. 5597/69. Heading D1F. A feeding device for a crimping machine of the type in which wet fibrous material is fed to a stuffing chamber 18 by means of a pair of cylinders 1, 2, comprises a funnel 7 having an open end for entry of the fibrous material 21 and an open end of decreased dimension for exit of the material prior to engagement by the cylinders 1, 2, at least one bore 10 located in the wall of the funnel adjacent the exit opening, conduit means 14 in communication with the bore 10 and means for withdrawing liquid which collects at the exit end of the funnel. In a preferred embodiment, the funnel is provided with two lateral extensions 8, 9 having bores 10, 11 in communication with conduits 10, 11. The liquid collected is withdrawn by a sucking device via hoses 16, 17 connected to the conduits 10, 11. The stuffing chamber 18 of the crimper is provided with side walls 5, 6, each having an opening 22, 23 through which the conduit communicates with the funnel bores 10, 11.
