Abstract

1,217,125. Spray carburetters. HONDA GIKEN KOGYA K.K. and KE IHIN SEIKA SEISAKUSHO K.K. March 4, 1969 [March 5, 1968], No. 11499/69. Heading F1B. In a carburetter a cam surface 5A controls minimum throttle opening 6 and is connected to a spring-closed choke valve 3 member so that the idling throttle valve opening is increased as the opening of the choke valve is decreased and a temperature sensing device 19 is connected to the choke valve so that the opening of the choke valve may be automatically adjusted in dependence upon the engine running temperature regardless of whether the cam surface and a follower member are in contact. Operation:- Engine exhaust gas or lubricant passes through inlet 23 into housing 16 and thence into outlet 24. The rise in temperature sensed by device 16 moves rod 20 out of the device against the action of spring 31, the movement being transmitted via bellcrank 26, connecting rod 29 and cam 5 to open the choke valve member 3.
