Abstract

1,216,973. Universal joints. AVIA NARODNI PODNIK. 21 Jan., 1969 [23 Jan., 1968], No. 3265/69. Heading F2U. In a Hooke's type universal joint each of the trunnion pins 2 is formed with a peripheral collar 20a separating the needle bearing rollers 26 and the lubricant sealing ring 15, a narrow gap 40 being provided between the periphery of the collar and the inner surface of the bearing cup 6. The ring 15 seats on a conical surface 17 below the collar. The latter may be formed integral with pin 2 as shown, or formed as a ring (33) pressed on the pin, Fig. 3c (not shown). The pins 2 are supplied with lubricant through axial passages 3 connected to a common supply point 5.
