Abstract

1,085,287. Securing rollers on shafts. VERWALTUNGSGESELLSCHAFT MOELLER & NEUMANN OFFENE HANDELSGESELLSCHAFT. May 27, 1966 [May 31, 1965], No. 23778/66. Heading F2U. Rolls 3 are keyed to a sleeve 4 which is keyed to a shaft 1 and are fixed axially relative to the sleeve by a clamp ring 18 having an inclined face co-operating with an inclined face of a groove in the sleeve so as to lock the rolls against a shoulder of the sleeve when the ring 18 is contracted. The rolls are fixed axially relative to the shaft 1 by a clamp ring 8 having a radial face 8a abutting the ring 18 and an inclined face 8b co-operating with an inclined face of a collar 10 formed on the shaft so that the sleeve 4 is clamped against a collar 11 on the shaft. The collar 10 and clamp ring 8 are formed in the manner of a bayonet joint with corresponding recesses and intervening projections so that the ring can be removed by slight loosening and rotation to align the recesses with the projections. The clamp ring 18 and part 4b of the sleeve forming one side of the groove are similarly formed in bayonet joint-like manner. The clamp rings may be split or segmented rings.
